The latest Movers and Shakers roundup includes interim appointments at Surrey and Borders Partnership, Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals, and East London NHS Foundation Trusts.


Jim Austin has been confirmed as interim CEO at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust from September 2024 until April 2026. Austin is currently CIO for Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board but will leave this role for the new interim role.


Dr Annette Doherty has been announced as the new chair of Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. She took over from David Highton, who completed his term of office at the end of April this year, after seven years as chair.


Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has this month appointed Ian MacKenzie as interim chief information officer.


After spending 10 months as director of digital at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation, Jonah Aburrow-Jones will be starting a new role as EPR programme director at Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust from the beginning of July 2024.


Jonathan Develing joined Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as director of strategy and partnerships in late April 2024. He was previously director of strategic partnerships at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.


Kate Fisher has joined Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as interim chief executive. Fisher is an experienced chief executive with 20 years of board level experience in the NHS, charity and private sectors.


In June last year, Lorraine Sunduza became the interim chief executive at East London NHS Foundation Trust. The trust has since confirmed her permanent role earlier this month as the new chief executive.


Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s chief executive Paul Robinson announced that he will be taking a period of sickness leave this summer, which started on 16 May. The trust’s current medical director and deputy chief executive, Dr David Selwyn, will serve as acting chief executive during that time.


Tom Abell, chief executive at East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, will leave after three years in July 2024 to lead Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board as CEO.


Jason Bradley joined Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust earlier in May as chief digital and data officer.
