👩‍💻 York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a partner to supply eJob planning and appraisal software services. The tender, published on 8 July 2024, says: “We want the software to help make doctors feel as though the process of appraisal and job planning has helped them succeed in their jobs and been a worthwhile (and short) investment of their time”.

😃 A study from Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has found that AI can enhance patient care after cataract surgery. According to a press release, more than 200 patients received a follow-up assessment of their surgery via the AI tool, Dora. It was able to identify and prioritise patients who needed further assessment by a doctor.

🤾‍♀️ Swansea University has launched the National Network for Innovation in Sport and Health. Working with local health boards and Swansea Bay City Deal, it aims to accelerate the growth of med tech, healthcare innovation and sport tech in the area. According to a press release the network will be “bringing together local, national and multinational expertise”.

💽 Novari Health and Oracle Health have announced the integration between their healthcare platforms. According to a press release, data sharing has been enabled between the Novari Access to Care Platform and the Oracle Health electronic patient record to support smooth transitions of care for patients.

🌐 Digital startup Huma has completed a $80m series D round. The firm announced plans to launch its Huma Cloud Platform, a GenAI-powered experience for the digital health ecosystem to design, build and launch innovations quickly. Huma said in a  press release that the platform could “reduce the time it takes to develop and launch digital health projects at scale from years to as little as a few days”.

❓ Did you know?

The percentage of IVF procedures on the NHS has fallen with 27% of IVF cycles being funded by the health service in 2022, according to figures released on 18 July by the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority. This is the lowest percentage since 2008, and is a fall from 40% of IVF cycles  funded by the NHS in 2012.
