GP out of hours service BrisDoc to deploy EPM system
  • BrisDoc to implement CLEO Core EPM for urgent care services in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire
  • Go-live expected in March 2025 following user assessment testing starting in October 2024.
  • CLEO Core offers clinical triage, digital appointment booking and data reporting capabilities

GP out of hours service, BrisDoc has announced plans to implement an electronic patient management (EPM) system in its urgent care services.

The CLEO Core EPM is expected to go live at the SevernSide Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) service in March 2025, with transition to the system beginning immediately.

Features of the EPM system include clinical triage, digital appointment booking and data reporting capabilities.

Kathy Ryan, medical director at BrisDoc, said that the CLEO system had been chosen following “an in-depth review and consideration of multiple options”.

She added: “This move aligns with our commitment to providing innovative, efficient and patient-centred care.

“CLEO CORE not only meets our clinical needs – it also offers a forward-thinking approach that will support our future growth and technological advancements”.

Ahead of its implementation in 2025,  CLEO Core will undergo user acceptance testing at BrisDoc SevernSide, starting in October 2024.

“Our teams are committed to working diligently throughout this transition to ensure minimal disruption and maximum benefit for our patients and staff,” Ryan said.

BrisDoc is an employee-owned social enterprise that serves more than a million patients each year across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Its SevernSide IUC provides round-the-clock emergency services that combine NHS 111 with other urgent care services, allowing people to speak to a clinician when their GP practice is closed.

David Brown, managing director at CLEO Systems, said: “We are delighted to welcome BrisDoc to the CLEO Systems’ community.

“This supports our drive to constantly innovate and collaborate with like-minded organisations who are passionate about improving the safety, efficiency and experience of those working in and accessing urgent care services”.

Greenwich Health implemented CLEO Systems’ integrated urgent care system, CLEO Core UTC, at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in July 2023.
