Our latest Movers and Shakers roundup features a new interim chief nurse for NHS England’s East of England regional team and Gary McAllister leaving the NHS after 26 years of service.


Former Homerton Healthcare Foundation Trust chief executive Louise Ashley has been appointed interim chief nurse of NHS England’s East of England regional team. She originally retired in Spring 2024.


Danielle Petch has been appointed as the new chief people officer at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Previously, she was chief people officer at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.


Daren Mochrie, chief executive of North West Ambulance Service Trust and chair of the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives, will leave both rules in late November 2024 for a senior job abroad.


Airedale NHS Foundation Trust’s medical director David Crampsey is leaving to become chief executive at Royal Free Hospital. He will take up the role on 30 October 2024.


Gary McAllister departed the NHS after 26 years on 1 August 2024. He was chief information officer at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and chief technology officer at OneLondon.


The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust has announced the appointment of Jo Williams as its interim chief executive officer, who will join in September 2024. Williams currently serves as chief executive at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham.


Lance McCarthy, who has been chief executive at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in Harlow for the past seven years, departed on 20 August 2024 to join Frimley Health as its chief executive.


Struggling ambulance provider East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust has announced Neill Moloney will take up the post of chief executive on 2 September 2024.


Rob Hodgkiss, who joined East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust in January 2024, has announced that he will leave in January 2025. In a statement released through the trust, he said his daily commute makes it impossible to remain in the role in the long-term.


Salu Sreedevi joined Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust in August 2024, as its new interim chief nursing informatics officer. She was previously employed by University Hospitals of Derby and Burton.


Simon Crowther take up the role of deputy chief executive at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on y 30 September 2024. He is currently chief finance officer and deputy chief executive at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.


Steve Grange, currently deputy chief executive and executive director of strategy at Midlands Partnership University Foundation Trust, is joining Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust on 1 October 2024.
