Professor Joe Harrison, trust chief executive and national director of the NHS App, is the latest speaker to be confirmed for Digital Health Rewired 2025.

The national director for digital channels at NHS England has overseen the development of the NHS App and NHS.UK and plays a key role in defining the digital future of the health service.

He will speak on the Digital Transformation Stage at Rewired25, which is taking place at the NEC in Birmingham on 18-19 March, where he will outline his – and NHS England’s – vision for a health service that is digitally driven.

During his session, Professor Harrison will provide expert insights from the frontline of digital development in the NHS, giving NHS innovators, partners and providers a unique insight into the new features we could see moving to the app and the digital roadmap of the NHS.

Alongside his work developing the NHS’s digital capabilities, he is chief executive at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and previously worked with NHSX (now the NHS Transformation Directorate).

Professor Harrison is also a board member of the Oxford Academic Health Science Network, chair of the Clinical Research Network Partnership Board for Thames Valley, and vice-chair of the NHS Confederation Employers Policy Board.

He joins an array of confirmed speakers at Rewired next year, including newly appointed NHS national chief clinical information officer, Dr Alec Price-Forbes and national chief nursing information officer,  Helen Balsdon, who will share their plans for the next stage of NHS digitisation.

Other speakers include Phil Wood, chief executive at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Ming Tang, chief data and analytics officer at NHS England, Dr Jessica Morley, postdoctoral research associate at Yale Digital Ethics Centre, and Mike Bracken, founding partner of Public Digital.

Rewired 2025, which is co-headline sponsored by The Access Group, will see NHS leaders joined by healthcare providers and planners, researchers, and academics, established industry leaders, suppliers and the most exciting start-ups.

The event will be packed with insights and inspiration for anyone wanting to learn from the UK’s best digital health speakers and NHS case studies.
