Professor Sir Stephen Powis, national medical director at NHS England, has been confirmed as the latest keynote speaker for Digital Health Rewired 2025.

Prof Powis’ instrumental work in integrating technology into the NHS includes championing the use of digital to revamp outpatient services, AI to improve diagnostics, virtual wards to relieve hospital pressures, and enhanced data sharing to support a single patient record via the NHS App.

In his debut Rewired appearance, Powis will take part in a fireside chat on the Integrated Care Stage, discussing how to support innovation throughout the NHS and the role digital will play in the government’s 10-year health plan.

He will then join the Innovation Stage to support National Innovation Accelerator fellows at their 2025 launch event.

Powis joins fellow national keynotes Ming Tang, chief data and analytics officer at NHS England and Professor Joe Harrison, national director of the NHS App.

Newly appointed NHS national chief clinical information officer Dr Alec Price-Forbes and national chief nursing information officer Helen Balsdon will also speak at the UK’s biggest and best digital health conference and exhibition.

Digital Health Rewired 2025, which is co-headline sponsored by The Access Group, will see NHS leaders joined by healthcare providers and planners, researchers and academics, established industry leaders, suppliers and the most exciting start-ups.

The event takes place on 18-19 March 2025 at the NEC in Birmingham and will be packed with insights and inspiration for anyone wanting to learn from the UK’s best digital health speakers and NHS case studies.
