PKB partners with Wellola in mental health and community push
Patients Know Best (PKB) partnered with digital health company Wellola to boost their combined offerings in mental health and community care.
The partnership will see Wellola’s patient communication platform, Portasana, integrated into PKB’s electronic patient record system, enabling organisations to combine automated appointment booking with access to health records.
The integration will initially support community and mental health booking features, enabling patients to access their health data, share information, co-create care plans and engage with their care teams through the existing PKB interface. The functionality will also be available through the NHS App.
Essex trusts announce plans to deliver £65m Oracle Health EPR
Two NHS trusts in Essex announced plans to deliver an EPR system in a £65m contract agreement with Oracle Health.
The system, which is expected to launch in 2026/2027, will build on digital investments to create a single patient record system across hospitals, mental health and community services, delivered by Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust and Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.
The EPR is hoped to improve how clinicians access patients’ comprehensive health and care information in real-time and enhance patients’ experiences by meaning they do not have to re-tell their health or care history whenever they see a health professional.
Moorfield’s Eye Hospital selects MEDITECH Expanse EPR
Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust confirmed that it will implement MEDITECH’s Expanse EPR in its 20 locations around London.
The programme, which is expected to go live in spring 2026, will integrate Moorfields’ existing ophthalmology clinical noting system, OpenEyes, with the cloud-based Expanse platform to establish one all-inclusive EPR across its network, with Expanse as the foundation.
Expanse will create one integrated EPR that delivers the same real-time access and view of patient health data at all of Moorfields’ locations, with departments such as A&E, radiology, pathology and pharmacy being fully digitised for the first time.

The Converse CX, solution from Netcall is expected to go live in spring 2025 and is intended to increase patient engagement and drive productivity.
