Public sector software business Civica has continued its run of acquiring niche cloud-based applications with the purchase of Infoflex.

Civica UK Limited, has purchased UK-based Chameleon Information Management Services Limited and its subsidiary, Flex Software Limited, trading as InfoFlex. The terms of the deal have not been announced.

In a statement, Civica said the deal and other recent acquisitions would enable it to respond to  growing demand to deliver better integrated health and care, including patient pathway tracking and workflow management, remote monitoring, data management and integration.

InfoFlex provides a cloud-enabled application with trust-wide and cross-organisation capabilities, it’s software integrates with existing hospital systems, across 65 clinical specialities including; cancer services, digital remote monitoring solutions (RMS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and endoscopy.

The company claims to have more than 40,000 users across over 130 NHS trusts.

Civica says that InfoFlex already integrates with it’s clinical information management cloud solution, Cito, which will enable real-time access to all clinical information.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, InfoFlex has been used by some trusts to flexibly manage data collection and reporting. West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust used the software to create a Virtual Hospital for the administration of patients being cared for in the community.

Marc Warburton, the chief executive at InfoFlex, said: “As the next stage of our development, we’re excited to be joining Civica.

“This will enable us to benefit from the opportunities and expertise of the wider Group, helping us to support more customers in providing the data and information management software and innovation to improve health outcomes.”

The purchase of InfoFlex builds on Civica’s recent health cloud software acquisitions including Warwick International, a provider of cloud based occupational health systems which it purchased in August 2019. Then in December 2018 it bought e-recruitment software specialist Trac Systems, along with launching newly built products Cito and Civica Prescribing.

Wayne Story, Civica Group CEO, said: The company’s [Infoflex] market leading software and sector experience will strengthen our presence and expertise right at the heart of the NHS.

“We’re excited about the opportunities ahead to add even more value and digital capability for our customers and further help transform the way trusts deliver clinical care.”
