Health Innovation Manchester (HInM) has appointed international industry experts to support the Board’s drive to improve the health of Greater Manchester citizens through research and innovation.

Professor Steven Myint, Dr Mark Chakravarty and Steve Oldfield CB join HInM as non-executive directors, working within a board that includes leaders from across Greater Manchester’s health and care system and its four universities.

HInM chair Rowena Burns said: “It is a measure of the widespread national respect for HInM’s vision and commitment that we have been able to attract candidates of the highest calibre.

“The new appointees bring with them a wealth of experience, knowledge and insights from across the global health and life sciences landscape to assist Health Innovation Manchester to deliver research and innovation at pace and scale across Greater Manchester.”


NHS England’s director of digital care models, Tara Donnelly, has stepped down after four years in national tech roles. Donnelly took up her most recent role early last year, and before that was chief digital officer at NHSX from early 2019. She announced her decision to leave to staff last month.


Leading dental software solutions provider Aglio Software has strengthened its dental division with the appointment of Lee Slater as new head of commercial.

Slater has joined the business to lead its commercial and corporate implementation teams and enhance Aglio’s business support propositions to dental organisations.


Acting chief executive at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust, Dawn Dawson, will finish her role this month, with Matthew Bryant taking over.


Deanne Driscoll has begun her new job as chief nursing information officer (CNIO) at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals. She was previously CNIO at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.


System C has created a new role within the senior management team to drive product strategy across the company’s leading healthcare, social care and education management solutions.

Julie O’Connor has been appointed to the new role of chief product officer (CPO) and began at the beginning of February.

Nick Wilson, CEO at System C, said: “It’s a pleasure to have Julie join the business. Our focus is on supporting health and care services to achieve digital excellence and the increasing operational pressures those sectors are facing makes it even more important to enable digital change to gain time and cost savings.

“Julie and the new team will be instrumental in steering product innovation and adding value to support our users in this way.”


SpyBiotech, a biotechnology company with a novel vaccine platform technology that can target infectious diseases, cancer and chronic diseases, has appointed Eddie Gray as chairman of its board of directors. Gray joins the board as an independent director.


Koa Health, a leading global provider of digital mental healthcare solutions, has announced that Dr Anna Mandeville has joined the company’s team as UK clinical director, and Leslie Norwalk has been appointed to the company’s supervisory board.

Mandeville will oversee the development of Koa Health’s clinical services, and Norwalk will serve as an advisor on the US healthcare system.


Gubby Ayida as been appointed to lead Evelina London’s Women’s and Children’s Services, part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and will begin her new role on 30 May 2023.

Currently, Ayida is medical director at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.


Managing director and deputy chief executive at Leicestershire Partnership Trust, Mark Powell, will leave his role to join Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust in April 2023.
