First two speakers for AI and Data 2024 announced

Digital Health is delighted to announce the first two confirmed speakers for Digital Health AI and Data 2024, taking place in October this year: Dr Nicola Byrne and Haris Shuaib.

Dr Nicola Byrne is the National Data Guardian for health and adult social care in England. As England’s lead for data protection and privacy in healthcare she will be exploring how you can integrate humanity into AI for healthcare.

Her keynote will address important themes of public expectation, building trust and public engagement and will be relevant to any health professional interested in the evolving interplay between AI and privacy across the health and care sector.

Fresh from chairing a live AI bake-off between ChatGPT and human doctors in front of a standing-room-only audience at Rewired 2024, Haris Shuaib is the second confirmed keynote speaker to. Shuaib is the CEO of Newton’s Tree and head of the clinical scientific computing section at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

As one of the most prominent leaders at the forefront of AI transformation, he is leading pioneering efforts in AI implementations for NHS organisations as well as spearheading groundbreaking research into glioblastoma treatment.

AI and Data 2024 will return to London on the 22-23 October, following a hugely successful inaugural show last year. Over the two days, thousands of digital health professionals – from clinicians and researchers, through to start-ups and policy makers – will join us for national keynotes, expert and original features, NHS best practice sessions, educational case studies, innovative start-ups and plenty of opportunities for high-quality networking.

Last year’s event included sessions from Dominic Cushnan, director of AI, imaging and deployment for NHS England; Ming Tang, chief data and analytics officer for NHS England, Dr Richard Smith, chief medical officer and deputy CEO at Genomics England and Dr Nadine Hachach-Haram, founder and CEO of Proximie amongst other leading experts.
