Sir Jim Mackey confirmed as opening joint Summer Schools 2024 keynote

Nationally recognised NHS leader and Newcastle Hospitals CEO, Sir Jim Mackey, has been confirmed as an opening joint keynote at Digital Health Summer Schools 2024.
With more than over 20 years’ experience as an NHS CEO, having previously held senior positions as CEO of NHS Improvement and interim COO at NHS England, Mackey is one of the UK’s most established and high-profile system leaders.
He will discuss the challenges of digital maturity and how to use digital to drive improvements in performance and productivity at the two-day residential retreat taking place at Durham University on 18-19 July 2024.
Joining Mackey as an opening keynote is Shauna McMahon, CIO of Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Appointed to the post last year, she leads the IT strategy as well as digital innovation and service change at the HIMSS Level 6 accredited trust.
As part of the executive team and trust board, McMahon brings 20 years’ healthcare experience including various NHS CIO roles and has led complex NHS digital transformational change programmes.
