Mike Fell, executive director of national cyber security operations at NHS England, will deliver a national keynote on the cyber security and infrastructure stage at Digital Health Rewired 2025.
Fell will be speaking as part of a session on ‘building cyber foundations to accelerate the shift from analogue to digital’ on day one of the conference which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on 18-19 March 2025.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Digital Health News, Fell said: “I’ll be talking to the core theme of taking security out of the shadows.
“We have great visibility of the threats, vulnerabilities and lessons from near misses and incidents, and there is no point in that remaining behind the closed doors of a security operations centre.
“There are few sectors as complex as the NHS and the health sector. I’ll be sharing some thoughts about how we can focus on the foundations and make sure that security principles and foundational elements are in place, rather than getting distracted by complexity.”
Fell joins an array of prominent speakers confirmed for Rewired 2025, including newly appointed NHS national chief clinical information officer Dr Alec Price-Forbes, and national chief nursing information officer Helen Balsdon, who will share their plans for the next stage of NHS digitisation.
Other speakers include Professor Joe Harrison, national director of the NHS App, Phil Wood, chief executive at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Ming Tang, chief data and analytics officer at NHS England, Dr Jessica Morley, postdoctoral research associate at Yale Digital Ethics Centre, Mike Bracken, founding partner of Public Digital, and Dr Charlotte Refsum, director of health policy at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change.
Rewired 2025, which is co-headline sponsored by The Access Group, will see NHS leaders joined by healthcare providers and planners, researchers and academics, established industry leaders, suppliers and the most exciting start-ups.
It will be packed with insights and inspiration for anyone wanting to learn from the UK’s best digital health speakers and NHS case studies.
Rewired 2025 is free for those in the NHS and public sector. Private sector tickets are available from £495 +VAT. Register now and book your accommodation early to secure the best rates.
