Telemedicine and Telecare Site for Wales

  • 28 January 2003

A new website to support telemedicine and telecare in Wales has been launched by the Welsh Assembly Government’s NHS Division Telemedicine Team.

The site is available on the NHS Wales Intranet and in a slightly modified form for the public on the Internet.

The site includes details of projects underway in Wales and further afield, along with information about e-learning opportunities, meetings and events and other reference sites on the web.

Announcing the launch of the site, the telemedicine team write, “Its banner reads: “iechyd-e-health…providing care earlier” and this aims to illustrate that with the effective use of advancing clinical technologies, IT systems and infrastructure, the public should see the benefits of reduced waiting times, inconvenience and costs in time and expense. “
