One Health Alliance launched
- 6 May 2009
A new ‘best of breed’ healthcare IT alliance has been launched, saying it will deliver technology and information solutions to both public and private healthcare organisations.
The One Health Alliance has eight member companies covering; procurement management, network infrastructure, clinical IT and workflow consulting, electronic patient records clinical information systems, document and workflow solutions, business information systems, implementation and deployment.
John Smith, chair of the One Health Alliance, said: “One of the underlying objectives of the Alliance is to [provide] a one-stop-shop single point of advice that takes away the risk and challenges of dealing with multiple suppliers.”
The member companies include: Ardentia, a provider of business intelligence solutions, Clinical Solutions, a supplier of evidence based decision support, and System C Healthcare, which both provides patient management and clinical systems and implementation services.
The other members are Lawson Software, Perceptive Software, SciQuest and Sun Microsystems.
Smith added: “What is key is that all members’ products are based on current industry standards and standardised interfaces to enable interoperability between the solutions being offered.
“By working in partnership, the Alliance can help all types of healthcare provider organisations improve financial, operational and clinical efficiency.”
However, the Alliance emphasised that the partnership is not exclusive and healthcare providers can still maintain a direct relationship with each member company if they prefer. The Alliance is initially aimed at healthcare clients in Europe, the Middle East and African markets.
Last year, a similar alliance, the 3C Healthcare Partnership, was set up, consisting of seven UK and Irish healthcare software vendors and implementers. However, its focus is the UK and Ireland.
