NHS 24 extends Clinical Solutions deal

  • 9 March 2010

Scotland’s health advice service, NHS 24, has extended its contract with Clinical Solutions for telephone triage and clinical content services.

NHS 24, the telephone and online service providing health advice and information in Scotland, has signed an agreement to extend its existing partnership with Clinical Solutions.

Within the current three year contract signed in March 2007, there was an opportunity to extend the partnership if service levels were met. After meeting key objectives, NHS 24 decided to extend the contract for a further two years.

Clinical Solutions, a specialist provider of health-based customer relationship management (CRM) and clinical content solutions, will continue to provide NHS 24’s core telephone triage software and decision support content.

Clinical Solutions will also continue to provide related services such as technical support, project management, configuration, training and deployment.

NHS 24 director of clinical development, Dr Christopher Stewart, said: “NHS 24 is playing a key role in providing, by telephone and online, clinical assessment and information services for people who live in Scotland.

"These NHS 24 services are delivered by working closely with partner NHS Boards across Scotland.”

Dr Stewart added: “During 2009, the H1N1 Pandemic provided challenges for all of the NHS in Scotland. As part of NHS Scotland, NHS 24 had a key role to play.

"Absolutely critical for us in NHS 24, is the need for robust and resilient systems to facilitate the delivery of the safe, effective and efficient services we provide.”

He said Clinical Solutions remained “a key supplier and strategic partner for NHS 24”. Xavier Flinois, CEO of Clinical Solutions added: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue working with NHS 24 and help them improve access to healthcare for the people of Scotland with technology and expert content.”
