EHI Awards judges announced

  • 20 May 2010

The full line up of the judging panel for the E-Health Insider Awards 2010 in association with BT has been announced.

The panel will be headed by Christine Connelly, director general for informatics at the Department of Health.

It also includes Brian Derry, BCS-Assist national council chair, Peter Smith, programme director, BT local service provider programme, and Carla Morgan, the RiO programme manager at NHS Waltham Forest.

Heather Strachan, clinical e-health lead at the Scottish Government e-health directorate, Dr Martin Murphy, clinical director of Informing Healthcare, and senior members of E-Health Insider’s staff complete the line-up.

Linda Davidson, director of E-Health Insider, said: “We are delighted that such a distinguished group of people have agreed to give up their time to judge this year’s awards. The fact that they have is a tribute to the growing profile of the awards, which are going from strength to strength.

“At a time of uncertainty in the health service, it is good to see that excellent work is being done in healthcare informatics and that an increasing number of informaticians have something good to shout about.”

This year’s awards are the biggest ever, and include a new category for major projects. Entries are open now and close on 4 June.

Nominations for the Healthcare ICT Champion of the Year, a special category of the awards decided by E-Health Insider readers, can be made until 23 July.

The award winners and champion will be unveiled at the black-tie awards dinner, which will be held on 6 October at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden, London.

The E-Health Insider Awards 2010 in association with BT seek out and reward outstanding work within the UK healthcare IT sector. Entries are open now on the dedicated awards website.
