John-Jo Campbell becomes CIO at Lewisham 

John-Jo Campbell has recently taken up a new role as chief information officer at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. He was previously at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he was appointed as the head of IT in 2009. Both trusts use the Cerner electronic patient record. Prior to St George's he was on secondment at the Department of Health, where his responsibilities included leading the transition of live services in the South of England. 

Mark Reynolds joins Sandwell and West Birmingham trust

Mark Reynolds has left the Health and Social Care Information Centre to take up a new role as chief information officer at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust this month. He was previously the information centre’s health digital portfolio director, responsible for leading the citizen-facing service portfolio. Before that, he spent three years as programme director for NHSmail, during which time he led the NHSmail team to deliver a 30% growth in usage and delivery into new sectors including social care and pharmacies, an HSCIC statement says. 

New director for NHSmail

Cleveland Henry is the new programme director for NHSmail at the Health and Social Care Information Centre. A statement from the HSCIC says that as programme director for NHS Choices, Henry has been “instrumental in making NHS Choices the leading healthcare website in Europe”. He joins NHSmail on  4 April, but will be supporting the team prior to then. 

Paul Charnley joins Morecambe Bay 

Paul Charnley is the new interim director of IT at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he is leading the trust’s electronic patient record procurement. Charnley has held a number of senior roles within the NHS. He was previously one of five regional implementation directors for the National Programme for IT, working on the NHS Spine and the North West and West Midlands Cluster. He recently returned from five years in Qatar with the Hamad Medical Corporation.

Shauna McMahon takes position at Frimley Health

Shana McMahon joined Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust as chief information management and technology officer in November 2015. She is originally from Canada, where she held a number of positions, most recently as the director of technology and infrastructure renewal at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. When asked what she hopes to achieve at Frimley Park, she said it is to: "Build an IM&T infrastructure that allows many systems to interchange data in real time within a robust enterprise digital backbone that is reliable and supports views tailored to the individual patient, clinician and administrators."
