King’s Interventional Facilities Management rolls out new quality management system

King’s Interventional Facilities Management (IFM) is working with Ideagen to roll-out a new quality management system.
The company, which is controlled by King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation trust, hopes Ideagen’s Q-Pulse system will help centralise and standardise document control by providing a single location for staff to access policies and standard operating procedures.
Andy Smith, head of IT at King’s IFM, said Q-Pulse is already benefitting areas of the trust including haematology, cancer services and medical engineering physics, by “driving quality improvement and facilitating compliance with standards”.
“It (Q-Pulse) will support King’s IFM’s move towards a more robust system of operational compliance,” Smith said.
King’s IFM provides the facilities for clinical teams across the trust and operates across a number of sites including King’s College Hospital, Princess Royal University Hospital and Orpington Hospital.
Julia Parlato, project lead for the Q-Pulse implementation at King’s IFM, said: “We are already witnessing the benefits of Q-Pulse as we continue to roll-out the software across the organisation.
“The system is offering a robust method of version control and we are gaining greater visibility around the governance and ownership of policies, as well as the interfaces between them.”
Ideagen provides software and services to help over 400 global healthcare organisations, including the NHS, to manage quality, safety and compliance and improve clinical efficiency.
As well as the NHS, Ideagen’s clients include Nuffield Health, Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Hong Kong Red Cross, Spire Healthcare and El Camino Hospital.
In a separate story, it was reported in 2017 that King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation trust had developed a virtual reality app to reassure children before they had an MRI scan.
The ‘My MRI at Kings’ app provides a panoramic 360-degree video that can be viewed on a virtual reality headset, mobile phone or tablet.
