Juliet Bauer appointed managing director at online GP provider LIVI
Former NHS England chief digital officer, Juliet Bauer, has been appointed managing director at LIVI UK.
Bauer, who succeeds Luke Buhl-Nielson, left the NHS and joined LIVI in April 2019 to take up a global product role.
Founded in Sweden in 2015, LIVI allows patients to access online consultations via their GP practice and has delivered over half a million consultations across Europe.
In September 2019, it was announced Boots UK was to trial LIVI’s video consultation service, allowing customers to speak to a GP in-store.
Consultations are being offered in select Boots consultation rooms using an in-store tablet computer.
Bauer said: “There is enormous potential for technology to completely revolutionise and improve the delivery of care in a digital age.
“By providing faster and more convenient access for patients, enabling doctors to work more flexibly, and reducing the burden on physical GP surgeries, LIVI is at the forefront of a digital transformation in healthcare that is relieving pressure on the NHS.
“I am delighted to be leading the business at such an exciting time as we look to expand our services to more areas of the UK.”
Buhl-Nielson will be taking up the position of vice-president for business development and operations for LIVI.
Johannes Schildt, CEO and founder of KRY, LIVI’s parent company, said: “Juliet has an enormous wealth of experience and I am delighted to announce her appointment as managing director. Her deep insight into the UK healthcare system, combined with her track record in digital transformation, will be invaluable as we look to bring our service to more areas of the UK.
“I would like to thank Luke for his dedication to the business over the past year. Luke has played a pivotal role introducing LIVI to the UK and in helping to establish the business as one of the UK’s leading and most trusted digital healthcare providers.”
