Synopsis
This journal club is based on a paper entitled, Bibliometric analysis of the 3-year trends (2018–2021) in literature on artificial intelligence in ophthalmology and vision sciences.
The authors objective was to ‘present a current view of the field of ophthalmology and vision research and artificial intelligence (AI) from topical and geographical perspectives’ based on 3939 articles.
They planned to:
– clarify the direction of the field
– aid clinicians in adapting to new technological developments
– help medical researchers and academics to anticipate emerging areas of research and allocate funds more effectively.
